My current setup includes a Ryzen 5 2600, an ASRock B450 steel, 16GB DDR4 memory at 3000MHz, and a GTX 1060. I’m considering a valve index but are concerned the GPU might not handle it well. With around £300 to spend on a GPU, what options fit my budget?

It seems you're considering your current setup. You might want to look for a used Ryzen 7 and the most powerful GPU you can get within your budget.
