I mentioned a solid duration. Most people wouldn't think it lasts forever. Only someone with an insane mindset would think improvements keep coming. If I had my old late '80s computer, I could still run it—provided the floppy disks didn’t fail (they always do). Would I use it? Probably not unless I really wanted to play a retro game. Still, it’d work for other tasks. Is that future-proof? For basic retro gaming stuff like word processing and spreadsheets, yes. Otherwise, no. *I'm not saying you're crazy!*
