Its GPU performance is constrained mainly by its CPU, not vice versa. A powerful CPU isn’t necessarily harmful for a GPU—this idea is often misunderstood in PC builds. The most significant issue from an overpowered CPU is simply becoming extremely fast at loading, which acts as a harmless bottleneck. This makes future upgrades to the GPU smoother, without the need to worry about another CPU upgrade.
There is a rare situation where an overpowered GPU causes problems. When a game runs too easily, the GPU stays in a lower performance mode, which hurts the experience. This is usually resolved by changing the driver settings to prioritize high performance for that software. Note: Go had similar issues with certain GPUs like RTX 3090, 4070 Ti, 4080, 4090, RX 6900 XT, RX 6950 XT, and RX 7900/7900 XT when running at lower settings. Older games that are easy to play also faced similar challenges. The GPU treated the game as a basic desktop app that didn’t need extra power, rather than a demanding application.
