Enhance performance without limiting GPU or CPU capacity.
I’m not very experienced with perfect gaming configurations, but I believed Elder Scrolls Online would work on my machine. My GPU and CPU aren’t limiting performance. Still, I’m not getting consistent high FPS. Any advice would be appreciated. Since modern titles like Two Ex Man make my GPU struggle, I usually lower the settings a bit. But if ESO isn’t using my GPU fully, what else could be slowing things down and causing FPS drops below 30?
Internet speed, poor optimization and RAM performance might be the issues. EDIT: I reviewed your profile and found you have a Ryzen processor. If this were me, I’d verify your memory speed—2400Mhz or less could be the problem. I see performance drops around 40 frames when your memory hits 2133Mhz, rather than the expected 2800+ FPS.
Could run on one CPU core at full capacity. Review usage per core.
I'm using a faulty USB Wi-Fi adapter, possibly the cause. I'm considering switching to a PCIe Wi-Fi adapter or using an Ethernet cable. My main concern is memory speed, so I'll monitor CPU usage.
I've heard rumors in the wind about ESO pegging one of the cores and shifting the rest to others. That could clarify why I'm having trouble—my CPU is fairly modest, even by 1700 standards. Perhaps I should attempt to overclock it to see if it makes a difference. I'll also look into possible Wi-Fi or cable issues, since my RAM is at 2666MHz.
