hello there, newcomers welcome! i understand you're just starting out with oci and have an i5-11600kf paired with a z490 a pro mobo, ak620, and a 750w xigma psu that's struggling. the main goal is to boost fps in cs2, especially since your monitor only supports 280hz. based on my research, i followed a specific oci configuration: load-line calibration mode 6, cpu ratio 49, ring 43 voltage 1.370, and dynamic ratio for cpu. this setup came from someone else's youtube tutorial, which i've tried for about four days without issues. i also tested it in occt for 20 minutes and everything worked fine. however, i reverted it after seeing other users report better stability with lower voltages. if you're looking to re-overclock or adjust settings, let me know what changes you'd like to make to your motherboard or oci configuration. thanks!
Confirm if GPU whine is the issue? If yes, adjust PSU before overclocking. Based on past experience with the 9700K, maintain the standard core and ring ratios. Here’s the default boost chart: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel...0k/23.html For core multipliers: 1-2 cores → 49x, 3-6 cores → 46x, ring ≈ 40x or 43x (default). Aim for 5.3GHz on single or dual cores. Running OCCT for 20 minutes isn’t sufficient to confirm stability; other tests in OCCT are needed. I’ve experienced a PC crash after overclocking for 20 hours of OCCT. Using this approach lets you apply higher voltage values, improving stability. Skip long testing sessions and observe real-world performance instead. If you plan to upgrade RAM, start with stable settings on the motherboard (e.g., XMP). Use HWinfo64 to track errors, but avoid HWmonitor—it’s unreliable. Delete it when launching HWinfo64.
