The Asrock x399 Taichi motherboard features a dual power supply for the TR4 socket processor. The CPU is a Risen Threadripper 1900X. To power it, the system requires 24+8+4 pin connections. Will it function smoothly with a 24+4+4 pin 650W power supply? I apologize for any mistakes in the translation; I’m Russian and my English is not very strong, so I rely on a translator.

The person who sold me the motherboard mentioned that with a 24+8 pin setup and no extra power, it consistently passed the stress test. He also expressed frustration about not having enough power. His CPU was 30% stronger, running at 1920X.

Run 24 plus 8 plus 0, and as long as you're not heavily overclocking, it should work. The 8 pin EPS supports up to 230W, which is suitable for a 1900X.

Consider using an adapter that matches 4 to 8 pins, which will align the connections properly. The wires from the TDP shouldn't melt as long as the adapter is designed correctly and the connections are secure.

The 8-pin connector (combined 4+4 into one plug) supports up to 230W. The 1900X won’t consume that much unless you push it heavily, especially during overclocking. Without extreme measures like using LN2, sticking with the main 8-pin setup is best. Using an adapter would likely create more issues, possibly forcing the single 4-pin to draw more power than it’s designed for.
