Hello, I’m completely unfamiliar with all this. My brother assembled my PC and recently my power supply failed. I bought a new one without checking what I was getting, so I’m unsure how to connect it or if it will work. I got a Corsair 850e and looked up online, but only found pictures and videos for the Corsair 850X. I think it should work, but I need help figuring out where to plug it in.

Are you experiencing issues with the connectors that connect to the power source or the computer? The RM850x and RM850e share identical cable types. Instructions for the RMx should also work for the RMe. The slots on the power supply are marked to indicate which cables correspond to each position. Remember, if you swap out another power supply, you can't reuse the original cables on the new one. You must stick to the cables that came with the power supply. Various brands or models may use incompatible cables.

Inspect the connectors on your motherboard, 24-pin EPS power connector, all SATA drives, and any PCIe power connectors for your GPU.

It makes sense now. My power source failed (the Corsair 750x), so I chose to replace it with another modular unit—specifically the Corsair 850e. I assumed it wouldn’t affect anything, so I kept the existing cables and tried connecting them to the new power supply, but the labels were different, causing me to plug them into the wrong slots. I searched for a tutorial online to set it up correctly, but couldn’t find a video matching the model I received.

Could I reuse the same cables from your previous power supply? The last one was a Corsair 750x, and the new one is a Corsair 850e. I’m just checking since you managed to disconnect some cables but they were stuck to the motherboard, and you don’t want to risk damaging it.

So far, I believe the issue isn't with the power supply. After restarting, it continues to enter MSI Click BIOS 5 mode. I've looked into various solutions from YouTube, but nothing has resolved the problem. I'm unsure how to check if the correct hard drive was installed since I don’t have detailed steps.
