I carry my flash drive almost everywhere I travel, just in case. If it were lost, valuable information could easily fall into the wrong hands. Would there be a way to set a password so that only you can access the USB when connected?

Secure the files stored on the device. Modern hard drives often support built-in encryption, though flash drives usually don’t. You didn’t specify the exact model, so I’ll keep it general.

It seems you're referring to a tool similar to PortableApps.com. Could you clarify what specific feature you're asking about?

Rohos Mini Drive paired with DiskCryptor, USB protection, BoxCryptor VeraCrypt, or GParted. Compress with PeaZip and lock the file with a password.

I've used Rohos and VeraCrypt before. Plugging my USB into a computer doesn't ask for a password to access it.

Encrypt the file using a secure method and store it on your USB drive. Access it later with the appropriate decryption tool. Unencrypted files can also be kept alongside encrypted ones for flexibility.
