Hey there, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my new system. I keep getting crashes when I try to play Darktide, Cyberpunk, and F1 2021. These games often freeze around the same spot. My F1 2021 runs perfectly on my old machine. There was also one crash in Deep Rock Galactic. I've played source games like TF2 and Jabroni Brawl without any problems. Starcraft 2 and Heroes of the Storm are also fine so far.

My setup includes a Ryzen 5 7600x, RTX 3070, 32GB DDR5 RAM, ASUS Prime B650-PLUS motherboard, Corsair RM850x 850W PSU, and a 2TB Samsung SSD. I'm using the latest Windows 10 version after a recent migration. CPU and GPU temps seem normal, but my memory is showing as 4800MHz in Task Manager—though the specs say it should be up to 5200MHz. The 7600x only supports that higher frequency. A fresh Windows install helped a bit, but it hasn't solved everything.

I'm really stressed about this and would appreciate any advice.

No, I haven't checked the BIOS yet. Would you like me to do it now?

I just verified my BIOS settings and found they're quite outdated. I plan to attempt an update and will share the results later!

I think that may have done it! No crashes in a full race of F1 and Cyberpunk is running without a hitch when it would previously crash within minutes. You are a king amongst kings friend, assuming these crashing issues are behind me, this is a huge weight off my shoulders.

I’m hoping so! BIOS issues are rare, but my setup matches yours closely, and it’s usually stable. If all else fails, I guess… not much else to update, right? Also, F1 is super engaging!

It's true, the new hardware is fairly recent and the older versions were no longer supported by ASUS. The latest BIOS update not only boosted performance but also enhanced DRAM compatibility. I'd expect such updates to have a bigger effect with newer components.
