Encountering a black screen after installing the latest updates. Assistance needed.
My PC is freezing after the newest updates. It stays on a dark screen even after entering my password. The login window takes a long time, and once it freezes, nothing else works. I can check Task Manager but not much more. Trying to force Explorer to launch isn’t helping. EDIT: It seems the issue persists even in Safe Mode. EDIT 2: Disabling startup items in msconfig resolves the problem.
Attempt to fix startup issues and if unsuccessful, revert to the state before the updates. This isn’t the first time Microsoft interferes with updates. It’s quite typical on Windows 10 and has occurred several times on Windows 7.
