Hello, Your DNS settings on the router seem to be causing delays and occasional errors. You've noticed the issue appears after switching to Cloudflare DNS, even though it worked fine before. It's interesting that the problems resurface after a couple of days. Could there be a temporary configuration hiccup or a dependency issue with the DNS service?

I previously attempted this earlier, using ipconfig release and renew, but the issue resurfaced.

Yes, similar processes occur with other third-party DNS services like Google and Quad9 as well.

About a year ago Google was the first I used, but I haven’t touched it much since. I’ve only ever worked with Google and Cloudflare, and Quad9 was something I only learned about today.

It seems the third-party DNS is interfering, likely due to your ISP. The best solution is to use DNS-over-HTTPS or DNS-over-TLS, which hides DNS queries as encrypted web traffic or secures the packets themselves.

I was considering switching but haven’t faced any problems yet. Using Cloudflare DNS seems like a good alternative. What might be the reason for hesitation?

It's difficult to determine the cause without more details. Possible reasons include your ISP, ISPs peering with yours, or routing issues. DNS-over-HTTPS (DoH) could help if you're using Cloudflare. For Windows, the simplest way to set up system-wide DoH is via https://simplednscrypt.org/

But that applies only to Windows; I need support for phones and game consoles too. I think I'll try adding Cloudflare DNS on my router once more.

With a Raspberry Pi, you can build a basic DNS forwarder. Use the Cloudflare daemon to establish a tunnel to Cloudflare, then configure your router to use that as your DNS settings.
