Encountered issues connecting to the Netgear AC2300 router online.
Checked if there were other issues with the Netgear AC2300 router connecting to the internet. Switching to a different Ethernet cable helped, but I’m seeking advice on reliable cables for short distances—around 3 to 6 feet. The current 50-foot cable is too long and tangled for my space. Looking for recommendations on good brands or specific models that won’t fail after a few months. Thanks to everyone who shares their experience!
Would be better to focus on the cable specifications rather than the brand, such as Cat5, 5e, 6a, 7. Using a Cat5 cable in a setup that could benefit from Cat6 would noticeably improve performance. Most routers still include Cat5 support, but upgrading to Cat6 is ideal for gigabit speeds. EDIT: Running the default firmware shouldn't cause issues.
The information you provided suggests you're experiencing variability in your internet speed despite consistent download/upload rates. You're looking for a reliable, high-performance cable option that works across multiple devices. Consider exploring brands known for quality connections, such as Cat6 or Cat7 cables, and check retailers like Amazon, Best Buy, or specialty networking stores. Always compare specifications and read reviews to ensure you get a better performance than generic options.
