Hi everyone, I'm trying to flash my vBIOS for several reasons. I've been seeing random black screens in Rainbow Six Siege. My GPU appears stuck on PCIe 3.0 even though the motherboard supports 4.0 (confirmed with cpuz). I also want to turn on resizable-bar, but my current vBIOS is F10, which doesn't support it. According to Gigabyte's site, F10 should be F12, which I downloaded and extracted. However, when I run the N3070VO.F12.exe as admin, I get an error: "Unable to get the current BIOS version." Have anyone found a solution or workaround? I've already reached out to Gigabyte support without getting a reply. My setup includes: AMD 3800X CPU, 32GB DDR4 RAM (4x8GB, 3200MHz), Gigabyte RTX 3070 Vision OC (rev1), and an Asus Prime X470 Pro. I've attached a screenshot from gpuz for reference. It seems the issue might stem from not using a Gigabyte motherboard, which could trigger a detection that causes failure. You may need to retrieve the BIOS file from the *.exe using tools like 7-Zip and then manually upload it with nvflash64. Ensure the BIOS matches your GPU revision (rev.1) to avoid damaging it. Also, confirm whether your motherboard supports ReBar.
It works with ReBar, and I've already turned it on in the BIOS. I attempted to unzip the files but they were encrypted, which prevented extraction. I discovered a recent discussion on a German tech forum suggesting the password could be "buildforge." I plan to test that now.
The Gigabyte vbios password was correctly set to "buildforge". After moving the folders and launching the .exe, the VBios flashing succeeded and I verified it’s now running version F12 with nvflash. ReBar is functioning properly, and there have been no crashes or black screens.
By updating my BIOS after flashing the V-Bios, all settings were reset, prompting me to explore further. ChatGPT proved useful for CPU and RAM overclocking and performance adjustments. The main limitation is it sometimes doesn’t point to the right menu option; taking a screenshot of the BIOS menu helps it locate the correct path.
