Hey! You're looking to improve your setup without breaking the bank. Based on what you've shared, you're considering a CPU upgrade while keeping your current motherboard and storage configuration. Since you want the most affordable option, you might want to stick with the AM4 platform.

Looking at the prices you mentioned, a Ryzen 7 5700X for around $100 seems like a solid choice. It offers good performance for gaming and multitasking without being too expensive. If you're open to alternatives, the Ryzen 7 5800X is also a decent pick but costs a bit more. The Ryzen 9 models are higher-end and might be worth considering if you need more power, but they’re pricier.

Just check the latest reviews or comparisons to confirm the best value for your needs. Let me know if you want help picking the right one!

Looking for the right upgrade? 5700x3D is the standard you should aim for. Check if 5800x3D options are available at similar prices, but they’re often limited. You’ll likely need to modify your BIOS, which may require a few adjustments since not every board supports immediate updates. Start with a model that mentions 5800x3D compatibility and move up to the newest version.

I assume you're familiar with the solution to this. For a cost-effective option, the 5700X is sufficient. If you need a more substantial upgrade at a higher price, the 5700X3D is an alternative. The 5800X can be achieved by enabling PBO, which depends on your motherboard, making the 5800X redundant. For gaming, the 5900X offers comparable performance to the 5700X but at a higher cost. The 3900X and 3950X provide only marginal improvements for gaming and aren't recommended.

The issue with ChatGPT is that it's a tool, and you can compare its performance by checking CPU specifications. You found relevant information online and wrote this post to ensure accuracy. It seems like the main challenge was locating affordable or lower-cost versions, especially the X3D models, which were quite expensive at around 190.

ChatGPT works well as a basic starting point when you're unsure where to begin. From there, you can explore more details to improve accuracy. The main concern is that it might rely on outdated information. lol if someone began from there, it's completely acceptable. It's not problematic or controversial. I'd like to see how the reasoning leads to the conclusion.

I was considering the 5700 but didn’t have much info on the latest Ryzens CPU releases. My pick might have been off. For instance, I wasn’t familiar with the 3900x or converting the 5700 into a 5800. Not knowing about PBO made that choice really appealing for its value. Thanks! I’ll look into the PBO option next.

For 1440p ultrawide resolution, even 5700X could work with a 3090, but 5700X3D is clearly superior. It comes down to the specific games—most are still constrained by GPU power.

Just tested it and it's fairly current. With a bit of research it wasn't too surprising or extreme. Lacked the latest Ryzen and Intel models but overall accurate. I used a 7700k to compare with 7700x and it correctly identified it as Intel without extra info. It also provided a summary highlighting more affordable AMD options, though it stuck above a 7800x3d. Nice breakdown on the differences between two AMD CPUs.

If you're unsure where to start, you wouldn't be relying on Chat GPT. Those who aren’t familiar with this topic don’t use it either. The information often contains a lot of confusion and simply repeats data without clear organization. For those not well-versed, it’s not very helpful. There are some tips on effective searching, but jumping straight to ChatGPT isn’t the best path when you already know how to find what you need. Too much inaccurate data is present, and it frequently pulls from many unreliable sources. It doesn’t really serve well for people who understand what they’re looking for and want accurate results. 5900x, 3950x, and 3900x shouldn’t be considered in pricing calculations—they should fall within 5600x to 5700x/5800x/5700x3d/5800x3D. It shouldn’t suggest a 3000 series for a 3090, since that could still cause issues. Not as good as an 1700, but it’s better than nothing with a 3090. You’ve already invested time, so make the most of it in a practical way.

I upgraded my monitor alongside the GPU. I believe switching from 1080p to 1440p could make a difference. I ran some benchmarks with superpositions, and the results improved when CPU usage reached 50% at 1080p, reaching 90% at 4K. Going to 1440p should help ease the CPU bottleneck slightly.
