I've been using the 'RLCRAFT' modpack for about a year and a half, adding some of my own changes. I haven't played much since March, but recently I came back after five days and the game freezes on launch, stuck in the loading screen. I have 26GB of RAM dedicated to Minecraft, so it's not a memory issue. I've tried fixing it before, but I don't know what others have done.

The chance you're using a more recent MC version than your mod pack supports is quite high.

modpack is compatible with 1.12.2 only; I’m using version 2.7. The latest is 2.8.2, but I don’t want to update 50 mods. Staying on 2.7 avoids that issue while also pulling forge 1.12.2 automatically.
