Encounter issues setting up Linux?
Hey there, welcome! I know it’s a bit confusing when things don’t go as planned. Just wanted to say I’m sorry if I ended up in the wrong spot. I’m trying to set up a dual boot between Windows 10 and Ubuntu, but after choosing 'install Ubuntu,' I keep seeing strange combinations of text and a weird pop-up that seems to last forever. It’s been running for about two hours with no progress. Anyone have a hand in helping me fix this? Thanks!
Ensure the file you're downloading is correct. The recommended method is using a torrent, which includes built-in checks. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM
Hey there, thanks for your feedback. I understand you're having trouble reinstalling Ubuntu because you haven't been able to install it yet. I've tried installing it with three different versions and even went with a torrented copy, but the results remain the same.
Consider trying "try Ubuntu" as suggested. If you made the install media on a USB flash drive, you can set it as the primary boot device in BIOS to launch Ubuntu first. This way, you can test the operating system without switching devices. I've noticed this works during startup or shutdown—just a strange initial behavior that resolves afterward.
