Hey everyone, today I installed Doom Eternal via the Xbox app through Game Pass. For the first hour everything worked perfectly, running at 144fps or higher without any hiccups. As I progressed toward the end of the first mission, performance dropped suddenly. My FPS would jump from smooth to around 25fps with no clear cause. It seemed to switch back and forth like a toggle. After getting a bit frustrated, I stopped playing for a while. When I returned, the FPS problems disappeared, but I encountered another issue: after loading the game or entering the main menu, the screen would randomly go black for a few seconds before returning. This happened repeatedly. While the video was off, I could still navigate and hear audio, but there was no visual output. I’m puzzled because everything else looked normal—my GPU drivers were up to date, and I hadn’t changed anything during the smooth playthrough. My system specs are: CPU AMD Ryzen 7 2700X, GPU MSI GamingZ RTX 2060, motherboard ASRock B450M pro4, 16GB RAM from Corsair, monitor HP 25X at 1080p 144Hz, 16:9.
