I’ll begin by noting that I’m not familiar with Mac or OS X, but I was given an old mid-2010 Mac Mini to experiment with running OS X 10.13.6. I’m facing trouble accessing my media server. Most of my devices support sharing, and password-protected ones function normally. However, the storage device I use lacks any password settings, and none of the methods I tried—like using a guest account or the admin username with a blank or random password—have worked. I’ve also tried Linux/Android solutions, but they didn’t resolve the issue.
