Embedded Windows 7 versionSoftware for Windows 7 in embedded systems
Hello. I’m looking for advice on getting my Dell Wyse Mini back to its original state. It runs Windows 7 Embedded and is stored in a former office now closed. I need to reset it to factory defaults, just installing Windows again without any extra software. Anyone have suggestions on how to do this or use recovery options?
Obtain a Windows 7 installation from Microsoft, create a bootable USB drive, format it, reinstall the OS, update drivers, and complete the process. Since Windows 7 embedded no longer receives support, using it is not recommended. An alternative could be a Windows 10 32-bit version, which offers a similar setup method.
I'm starting the download of Windows 10 32bit and will check it later. Appreciate all the fast responses!
It won't fit in its current setup. The device only has 16GB of storage, which isn't enough for Windows 10. Even after an upgrade, it will likely struggle with performance—Netflix in 720p probably won’t work well because of the weak CPU. Maybe it’s better to sell it and find a more capable model on eBay.
