You're starting with OpenNebula and using QEMU. The setup seems correct, but you're getting IP issues. Check the bridge configuration and ensure DHCP is working properly. Also verify that your machine's network settings match what OpenNebula expects. If you're not getting an IP in OpenNebula or your router, it might be due to routing rules or DHCP server problems.

I don't have information about your specific installation. Could you clarify which version of QEMU you're using?

I tried Ubuntu and TTYLINUX, but the interface isn't showing up. However, with another /etc/qemu_ifup script it appears as eth0 and assigns an IP like 1.92.172.xxx. Open Nebula is running on Ubuntu 16.04.

It seems another DHCP server is active on your network. Consider assigning a fixed IP address to your virtual machine and adjusting the router settings accordingly.

Which network is it? I’ve got DHCP set up on my router, and you mentioned OpenNebula.

The router isn't the sole source of DHCP on your network. Have you considered assigning fixed IP addresses?

Sauron confirms I own a modem with DHCP at 192.168.10.1. In ddwrt, I've configured static IPs on devices but not on the server. I'm aware of performance issues and was recently updated from Linux Tech Tips.

The issue likely lies in your QEMU configuration. Consider switching to libvirt with Virt-Manager for better handling.
