Electric Shock
Electric Shock
Hey everyone, just wanted to share what happened. I woke up and realized my hand was badly shocked by the blanket because of the static electricity. I immediately tried to turn the case on, but while doing so, my finger accidentally touched the case body, causing a spark. The case started turning on, but then the motherboard's GPU LED lit up and after about 20 seconds the login page appeared, at which point the case shut off completely. After re-plugging the PSU and trying to restart, nothing worked. Eventually, it turned back on after around five minutes.
I’m curious if this delay was intentional—like a safety feature of the PSU or motherboard—triggered by an electric shock, or if there’s another reason. Was it a protective mechanism that didn’t activate immediately? Or is there something wrong with either the power supply unit or the motherboard?
I just wanted to know whether I should be worried about my PSU or motherboard. Just in case, I don’t want any components to fail later. Thanks for reading!
