I just completed my initial run and created a few videos. In one clip I observed a significant boost—50% more runes when my help died during the battle, or 33% fewer when it didn’t. (Note: I should verify this again.) I enjoy runes, keep the golden scarab, and try to use the fowl foot in tough boss fights. This is new for me. Now I can reach up to 200% runes at boss encounters! Edit: I attempted this with Mohg, letting the help die 20 seconds before the boss, but it still yielded 655,000 runes. However, I have two videos showing the Crucible Knight duo; the first one gave me 19433 and the second 33,000. I’m still unsure about the discrepancy—maybe I missed something. I also retrieved some runes I’d lost earlier, but the display only showed 19433, not the full amount. By the way, Discus of Light has become a strong spell since October 2022, affordable (3FP) yet powerful. Edited August 25, 2023 by leclod

The leader of Farum Azula is where I stopped working for a while. I’m a beginner, it took me 170 hours to reach there, and I just couldn’t overcome the two dragons of Farum Azula. I joined with a glintstone build, looking for every detail in the maps. Elden Ring is massive and satisfying to explore. Last week I installed an "easy mode mod" to finally complete the game (offline). I only missed the sunflower ending, the star ending, and the frenzy endings—they’re really great!

I feel pretty close to 170 hours at Farum Azula, and I’ve had a lot of setbacks. Yet I never faced bosses like in DS3 or Sekiro (except maybe Crucible Knight). Now that I’m on Discus of Light, it’s almost effortless. Edited August 25, 2023 by leclod

I overlooked the Frenzied Flame initially. I deleted it beforehand.

You're asking about the help system. It's related to summoning an online cooperator or a spirit summon. When you call upon an online cooperator, you receive only 25% of the regular runes for the boss, while the cooperator gets 75%. This applies even if you summon two at once—each still gets 25%, and together you get 75%. The Golden Scarab boosts your earnings by 20%, and the gold-pickled fowl foot consumable adds another 56% increase. I'm not sure about the timing details when a cooperator dies, but it seems there should be a period where you're alone before receiving the full amount again.

Spirit summon and I encountered a minor coincidence. The outcome doesn't matter for the spirit summon. Thanks!
