My friend accidentally hit his palm against the laptop screen a few times. I’m curious about the possible damage. Can I check if the laptop is still working inside without opening it? What issues should I watch for, and what problems might have arisen? Should I consider repairing it or leaving it as is? Will it affect the hard disk, RAM, or motherboard? Also, my laptop was on when this happened—here’s a picture of the incident.

Hey there,
Great question! Did he have a problem with the laptop at that moment?
We can check the specific model and see if we can help. Usually, these devices have an SSD or HDD, and sometimes a wireless card.
The best way to confirm is to turn it on and see how it behaves. If it doesn’t work properly, we’ll address the issue further.
It seems the laptop might be more sensitive to impact compared to desktops, so a hard hit could damage internal parts.
