Editions of Battlefield 2042
Editions of Battlefield 2042
Hello, I have a few questions about the different editions. 1. Does the regular edition contain all the maps, especially those coming out soon? 2. What is the Year 1 Pass and which Battle Passes are included? I just want to make sure I’m not missing anything besides cosmetics if I choose the standard version. Any guidance would be really helpful. Thanks!
From BF5, the maps are meant to be open to all, while the weapons remain restricted except in specific situations. The first year pass is likely another type of "battle pass" system, offering a full three-month period (though the three-month claim sounds quite generous—just don’t quote me on that)
Content availability has steadily decreased in each Battlefield title. It wouldn't be surprising to notice new maps becoming restricted behind a paywall as well. Finally, EA shifted from the long-term "Season Pass" model to a yearly subscription option. I suspect many players would prefer paying annually for access to the latest updates. It feels like a change from the past when you could purchase the game and then opt for a season pass to unlock everything. Back then, Battlefield 3 and 4 operated that way without needing EA to announce financial struggles. This might be another game where I skip it entirely, or I’ll only buy it from sources that assure no payment will be made.
It seems the gameplay might be too easy, but it could be worth it if you're looking for challenges. Keep your eyes peeled for those adventurous players searching for hidden dangers.
The standard edition contains all maps, including any new ones added later. The Gold and Ultimate versions will grant access starting October 15th instead of the 22nd. They also provide a Year 1 pass, giving you the first four battle passes (each lasting three months). This means you can unlock the paid content of each battle pass. I heard that the free version of the battlepass with the standard edition covers gameplay elements such as weapons and special abilities, while the paid version mainly adds cosmetic items. That’s similar to what I saw about Cod Warzone, though I’m not sure.
