I possess two monitors: an LG 27GL850 and a DELL S2240L. When I access Twitch.tv or sites with many images or videos—similar to Twitter or 9GAG—the screen brightness on my Dell monitor increases significantly. Adjusting the monitor manually didn’t resolve it. Dragging the browser window toward the LG monitor normalizes the issue, but other windows still show the same brightness boost. I suspect a recent edge update may have caused this problem, though I’m unsure how to revert to an older version. My hardware details are: Microsoft Windows 10 Pro Version 10.0.19044, AMD Ryzen 5 5600X (6-core, 3701 MHz), 16 GB RAM, ASUSTeK TUF GAMING X570-PLUS board.
Only the web pages open affect the brightness issue. I can arrange several windows from various applications next to each other on the Dell screen, and just the browser appears more vivid.
Also review the graphics options. I encountered a problem where the laptop screen adjusted brightness depending on what it displayed. It wasn't the same as yours, but fixing it involved disabling certain settings in the graphics card drivers and Windows. Look for any comparable adjustments in your own configuration?
Same issue appears on monitor 2 while using monitor 1. Both are Dell models—S3422DWG in HDR mode and S2719DGF with DxDiag.txt.
