I often face slow downloads when using the internet browser, reaching only 20kb/s. On the other hand, Steam games load quickly at up to 2.7mb/s, and my Xbox downloads are even slower. Could you offer some suggestions?

Which browser are you using? Your speed test results on speedtest.net will vary. Regarding units, mb/s refers to megabits per second, MB/s to megabytes per second, kb/s to kilobits per second, and KB/s to kilobytes per second.

Microsoft Edge and Chrome performance: 52 ping, 4.36MB/s download, 3.33MB/s upload. Sorry for the mix-up, I assumed people would understand what I meant.

It's okay! I noticed the title but didn't catch that detail when you typed it. You should be seeing around 500 KB/s during downloads. From what I understand, Chrome and Microsoft Edge show speeds in KB/s, while Steam lists them in MB/s. Based on your speed test results—Chrome/Edge at 558 KB/s and Steam at 4.36 mb/s—it looks like you're performing well in both scenarios: - Chrome/Edge reports 558 KB/s - Steam shows 4.36 mb/s per second (MegaBytes per Second, usually what your browser displays) mb/s = megabits per second (the ISP's numbers). Feel free to ask if anything is unclear!

It seems you've mixed up some details from your earlier message. Let me clarify: Are you asking about why your download speeds are so slow with Microsoft Edge and Chrome, especially when trying to install drivers? And why does it take such a long time—like 5 hours?

It also relies on the specific platform you're using and their location. Steam generally performs well, but you'll often reach your download cap when downloading from them. It's possible servers nearer to you offer better speeds, though having the fastest internet isn't guaranteed. Downloading large files like a 3GB 4K YouTube video from a site such as sketchydownloads.com based in North Korea may not be very quick.

You're experiencing slow downloads because you're downloading drivers from ASUS and GeForce websites.
