You're getting a 212 EVO for your 3770k and currently running at stock speed 3.5 GHz. You're thinking about boosting it a bit but don't have much BIOS experience or comfort with tweaking things. Your question is: Can you overclock the CPU slightly by adjusting a few settings? Your motherboard is an Asus P8z77v-LX2.

If you're a beginner and encountering no problems, please keep your bios unchanged.

I'm getting a 212 EVO for my 3770k and currently my CPU runs at stock speed of 3.5 GHz. I'd like to push it a bit higher but I have no BIOS experience and am not very comfortable with these things. My question is: Can I overclock the CPU slightly by just adjusting a few settings? My motherboard is an Asus P8z77v-lx2. ASUS seems to offer easy overclocking in the UEFI, so I should update my BIOS first and then check if it's available.

My question is: Can I overclock the CPU slightly without going all the way? Should I check if there are any options in the BIOS? My motherboard is an Asus P8z77v-LX2.
Does ASUS offer an easy overclock feature in the UEFI? I think I should update my BIOS first and then see if it’s available.
Are there any controls in the BIOS that I can adjust?

If you're a new user and encountering problems, don't change your bios. Just lower the version, that should fix it.

Didn't mention it wasn't functioning properly and if an error occurs, we might lock the board...
