In fact, the sanctions were removed about a month ago. That doesn't serve as a valid reason.

I'm not sure how you thought I was implying they were enforcing a US sanction beyond limiting internet access. What kind of actions would a repressive government take? I just want to make sure we have all the details before jumping to conclusions about EA or any potential sanctions.

An ISP in Myanmar might prevent Origin from accessing its services for reasons related to regulatory compliance or network management. The government could request the same action to ensure alignment with local policies. Both actions aim to control access and maintain service integrity. It’s more likely Origin was blocked on EA’s servers rather than in Myanmar itself.

The opening line reassures that access to Origin remains secure despite potential sanctions concerns in certain regions.

It's about digital files whether purchased on physical formats or not. The issue isn't the way they're shared—it's the DRM restrictions that prevent you from playing the games you bought and downloaded. Are you aware of this?

To some degree, yes. You're focusing on the digital side only. I'm referring to all digital offerings—like Blu-ray/DVD purchases, CDs for music, and so on—rather than streaming or video formats.

CDs, DVDs and Blu-rays also fall under digital media. Vinyl, VHS and a few other magnetic tape types were the most commonly used analog formats before digital ones took over.

Myanmar's civil rights situation is concerning, but it seems the government might be reacting to specific issues rather than general concerns. Only certain platforms like Origin or Steam appear to be more prominent, suggesting other matters take precedence.

Yes, but you have a physical thing that you can still use... I'm not arguing about digital vs analogue, I'm sauying that with a physical product you can still make use of it in most cases. Not in this case obviously, but I was saying about physical media vs digital content. BTW digital media and digital content aren't the same thing as you were trying to suggest.

Sure, when something is saved on digital media, it becomes digital content. I understand your point, but I find it annoying when people link 'digital' with something not fully owned by the user.
