I experience a recurring problem in certain games or apps at unpredictable moments—often when performance peaks. This seems linked to my 3060. Here are the details:

- Operating System/BIOS: Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit (version 19041.1348)
- Motherboard: MSI Z390-A PRO
- Processor: Intel Core i7-9700K with Hyper 212 cooler
- RAM: 4x8 Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3200 CL16
- Graphics: GIGABYTE AORUS Elite RTX 3060
- Power Supply: EVGA 850 GQ 850W (80+ Gold)
- Storage: Seagate Barracuda Compute 2TB 7200RPM / SK Hynix Gold S31 500GB SSD / ADATA XPG SX8200 PRO 1TB
- Occurrences: Around 16 screenshots of error messages in a folder

The issues I face are:
1. Sudden freezing, audio drop, and black screen—especially in titles like Cult of The Lamb or COD: Cold War.
2. Graphics return briefly, then freeze again; game feels unresponsive until restart.
3. Stuck state where I can't use ALT+TAB or standard close methods.
4. In CS:GO, the game hangs but stays frozen, making it hard to exit.
5. With video files in Explorer, UI freezes randomly; closing player too soon causes full system freeze.
6. Best case, game briefly stalls before I can restart.

Despite trying all fixes—better PSU, new drivers, extra RAM, cleaning the GPU—I still face persistent problems. I’ve attached msinfo32 for further details if needed.

Check if the graphics are getting too hot and if you've updated Windows.

It seems the operating system might be experiencing problems, possibly related to resource management or driver issues.

The error in your screenshot appears to be a file corruption issue. You may need to run the "scan and repair" command via the cmd prompt as it recommended. Administrator privileges are required for this scan. Open the box labeled "command prompt," right-click, and choose "run as administrator." Then enter "sfc /scannow" and follow the instructions. A link might provide further guidance.

I executed the command and it completed in just a minute, uncovering corrupted files. A log file is available for attachment, though crashes persist. Fortunately, I discovered a replacement game that freezes but provides a clearer error message: Gas Station Simulator, with its error included. Notably, it reports losing a D3D device and references the kernel directly.

This could be a bit unclear. Try understanding it step by step. If your computer restarted after the SFC scan and repair but the problem persists, you may need to clean up your disk image during Windows installation. The referenced link provides more details at the bottom. This new warning is connected to Direct-X and Direct-3D. All Windows versions support both. It’s a good idea to back up your files—including saved games—before executing any command via the command prompt. You’ll need administrator access again. Enter the command provided and press Enter. The process might take a few minutes. DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth is important because it uses Windows Update to fix corruption. The second link explains SFC scan & repair versus DISM, generally recommending you run SFC first. If that fails, proceed with DISM. DISM fixes the system file source cache in the WinSxS folder, which SFC then uses to repair system files. If the source cache is damaged and not fixed with DISM, SFC will pull from a corrupted location, leading to further issues. In these situations, running DISM before SFC is necessary.

I executed DSIM and confirmed no issues. After that, I rerun SFC and it showed no unusual findings.

Check how your GPU connects—directly into the PCIe slot or via an extension cable through a riser.

Have you checked placing it in your second PCIe X16 port and observed if the issue continues?
