Dying Light freeze my pc
Dying Light freeze my pc
Hi,
When I play Dying Light, it sometimes freezes unexpectedly and the PC becomes unresponsive, forcing a hard reset. Even when the PC is frozen, the audio keeps playing, like on Spotify. What’s going on?
Consider downloading Speccy to check if any parts like the GPU or RAM are overheating beyond normal levels. I remember having Far Cry 5 freeze a while back because my graphics card was getting really hot—about 95 degrees Fahrenheit. Do you have the latest drivers for your graphics card? I’m not sure what else comes to mind.
It might be several factors causing this problem. Are your temperatures and usage levels normal? Does the system slow down when graphics are low and FPS is limited to half your usual rate? Have you verified if any Windows updates are pending or available? Have you attempted to update drivers—GPU, PCI, audio? After addressing these points, investigate potential hardware issues such as a failing hard drive or non-functional fans. You can also submit a support ticket for the game platform; live chat support may also help.
I don't believe it's a temperature issue since the CPU usually stays around 70°C and the GPU about 60°C.
This problem has been happening since I built the PC in July 2018 with dying light and Fortnite, but after a factory reset it seems to be resolved. However, it reappeared a week ago. I play more demanding games like The Division 2 or GR Wildland without any issues, so I'm confused about what's actually wrong.
I resolved the issue I faced before by performing a factory reset and upgrading the RAM, so I believe the problem isn't related to the hardware.
The issue only occurred with dying lights in a game that isn't too demanding, which I play at Division 2 at Ultra without any problems.
Are I aware of any pending or available Windows updates? Have I attempted to update drivers, including GPU, PCI, and audio drivers?
Everything has been updated, I attempted to use ddu for the driver but it didn't work. Edit: I just got a Windows 10 update today, after which the game crashes but the PC is still operational. The error shown in the Event Viewer is "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
Open your settings and select update and security. You might see that Windows is current but there’s an option to check for updates. Click it and observe if another update appears. Repeat this process until your PC stops updating.
Do you happen to play Dying Light online? If yes, have you ever used modded weapons?
Have you ever tried overclocking your GPU?
