I planned to purchase and install the game this morning. But I discovered you won’t be able to modify it. Techland is suing for DMCA violations against modders.

The game doesn't fully use both physical cores on my I3. Poor optimization. Avoid it.

Only my perspective matters here. Modders create superior content compared to most paid DLC, and it’s all free. Techland tries to restrict mods to prevent cheating, but that’s not their goal. I don’t agree with it.

This game runs slowly during cutscenes. We'll have to wait for the upcoming update.

Due to a recent update, V-Sync behaves differently on 120Hz displays—showing a 60fps limit and then jumping to 120fps, which seems unusual. I’m mostly stuck between 60 or 120 fps settings, except when adjusting the viewing distance.

I completed the entire game, removed all challenges except the ones. My impressions: Dying Light is a solid achievement, even if it launched with some hiccups. Admitting it's hard to find a launch game without any issues nowadays. For me, this title captures the essence of a first-person zombie experience, almost flawlessly executed. The fighting feels really engaging. Although I think the game could have been longer, it should have offered roughly the same depth as Skyrim to earn my full score. The main drawback is the lack of survival mechanics—you don’t need to gather food unless you find something to restore health, no water required, and the worst part is there’s no base building. If they had added a base system instead of just safe zones, it would have transformed this into something much stronger. Overall, a strong beginning, but it would shine more with RPG features like combat customization and side content at TES levels. If modders could improve it, I’d be thrilled. Right now, some mods work on NM, though nothing fully supports NMM at the moment. Edit: Mine runs well on ultra with HBAO disabled and render distance reduced to half. No visible artifacts.

The review mentioned adjusting the render distance, and you're curious about the associated expenses.

Around the midpoint, you start catching some subtle environmental cues more often (such as tiny neon signs on building sides), no unusual enemy activity that stood out, which is really positive—particularly in a large market or square filled with many zombies. The most intense moments for me were when I was struck by something that could affect my vision, like the spray from a spitter zombie.

Which graphics card are you using? It seems like you're experiencing frame drops during cutscenes.
