DWM.exe causing random GPU spikes
I'm experiencing unexpected spikes in my GPU usage, reaching 100% for brief periods at random times. Despite trying various solutions—cleaning the system, adjusting CPU settings, running full virus scans—I still see this issue persist. Could someone assist me since I'm not familiar with these troubleshooting steps?
DWM is a desktop window manager. It seems a UI component might be responsible. Disable all visual effects and test again.
I’ve tested every possible solution. dmw.exe forces my GPU to run at full capacity 100% unpredictably (regardless of activity). PC specs: Geforce 1660, Ryzen 5 3600, 16 GB RAM, 1TB SSD, 256GB HDD. Before I cleared the drive, a Kaspersky scan detected a Trojan and I fixed it; afterward I reformatted multiple times. Now Windows is current, drivers are updated, and I’ve lowered CPU voltage. It keeps happening. Need advice from someone who’s been through this.
That's what it looks like, it continues to occur. I believe it's a Windows Micro Stutter.

Check your current motherboard model and look up the latest BIOS updates for that specific system.
B450 Gaming Plus Max is still running the same BIOS version since purchase.
