You’re planning to add a new fan and want to clean dust from your CPU/GPU as well. For case fans, simply hold them still and blow air out. For CPU/GPU, you’ll need a more careful approach—compressed air can help remove dust without damaging components. Just use it gently and avoid high pressure.
You won't force those pins by just using a compressor unless you really hit the nozzle.
To avoid any issues, you can keep the fans still while using them. This concern has grown over the years, even though I haven’t damaged anything by spinning a fan with compressed air for 20 years. With modern equipment prices rising, it’s wise to protect your investment.
Is the spray just a compressed gas mist? Make sure you're using it correctly. The liquid inside is under pressure and changes to gas when you trigger it. Spraying continuously may cause liquid to leak, and spraying at an angle—especially upside down—can affect the result.
