I wouldn't connect HDMI to the Neo G8. Using DSC with DP has solved all problems with the screen—it's been my primary display ever since it came out.

HDMI supports richer colour depths than DP, which is why I’ve been using it for a while without any problems. However, I recently switched to DP to check if the issue lies elsewhere.
