The dream machine pro and pro SE models have a low maximum throughput of 3.5gb/s when using IDS/IPS. Keep this in mind. You're testing the boundaries of Ubiquiti routers. The best alternative would be a netgate router designed for that speed or a PFSense setup with comparable specifications to the netgate.

10g networking is affordable when you buy used. You can find PCIe 3.0 cards for about $20 to $30. I’m using an EdgeCore AS4610-54P ($80 on eBay). For the WAPs, I’m getting 48PoE 1Gbps and 4 SFPs+ for my computers. I don’t really need those extra features since my parents won’t let me drill holes in the walls.
