Dual channel RAM paired with Red Dead Redemption 2
Dual channel RAM paired with Red Dead Redemption 2
I recently replaced a 16GB DDR4 2400Mhz RAM module with two 8GB units and enabled dual-channel operation. The performance dropped noticeably—especially in the game, which now stutters and drops to around 22 FPS compared to its usual 27 FPS. Benchmarks still suggest similar averages. I'm curious if others have faced similar problems with this setup. The game appears significantly affected. By the way, the dual-channel RAM setup boosted Assassin's Creed: Origins by about 10 FPS.
The game isn't great on PC, and the developers seem indifferent about it. That makes sense—confirm if it's using dual-channel. What processor are you using?
Works perfectly on GTX 1080 Ti and 8700K. Smooth performance at about 75 FPS with Gsync at 1440P.
You're experiencing some instability when using ultrawide with your 1080Ti. The issue likely started after enabling the dual channel configuration.
