You should download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website or use a reputable driver manager tool to ensure optimal performance.

Also, RAM doesn't require drivers.

Visit the motherboard manufacturer's site. Only this information matters. If Windows detects drives for updates, download and install from the official source.

If you understand which models to choose, opt for station drivers of the latest versions.

I probably missed that. But chipsets are important.

Technically yes. Without a mediator between the hardware and software, they can't exchange information or even identify each other. Without a driver, the OS wouldn't distinguish between a mouse and a sausage you connected. Yet the CPU remains a fundamental component, which is why its driver is typically embedded in every operating system. The part handling CPU tasks is known as the instruction set. This aspect is vital to modern computing; without it, no OS or user interface could function. Windows relies on Intel x86 and x86-64 instruction sets, making it straightforward to integrate them. As cross-platform systems grow and mobile chips adopt different instruction sets, the situation becomes more complex. It's unclear if future systems will allow users to download and install their own instruction sets. Currently, drivers are already built-in, but certain components like USB, GPUs, and Intel IME still require their own solutions. Downloading from the motherboard maker's site and removing unnecessary software after installation is recommended. Edit: I just noticed you're not OP. Apologies for the detailed explanation.

Essentially everything needs a driver, but you don't have to worry about 90% of it.
