Drivers for Windows 10
Drivers for Windows 10
I've now invested over 12 hours in rebuilding my computer from the ground up—swapping the motherboard, CPU, RAM, and cooling system. My goal was to get it running without reinstalling Windows, but the machine was in shambles. It kept flashing numerous blue screen error codes, making it nearly impossible to troubleshoot. I spent countless hours trying to get it operational, capturing screenshots of program settings between crashes, before finally switching back to Windows.
I researched the blue screen codes and noticed some pointed at memory issues, so I swapped in my old RAM. That resolved the problem and allowed me to complete the setup quickly. Then I reinstalled Windows, but it started failing again during installation—blue screens popped up repeatedly.
I suspected the RAM might be on the Memory Support List. After checking, I saw some online discussions about BIOS updates affecting new RAM compatibility. I updated the BIOS and tried reinstalling Windows again, and everything finally worked smoothly.
Now I’m left with a driver installation challenge. The computer is offline because Windows seems to be stubborn about installing certain drivers, especially a random Nvidia one. I’ve already downloaded the latest Nvidia driver and installed it manually, but I’m unsure which motherboard drivers to add. Which ones should I include?
Here’s what I need:
- Chipset: "Intel Serial I/O driver", "Intel Management Engine Firmware", "Intel INF installation", or "Intel HID Event Filter"
- LAN: "Realtek LAN Driver"
- SATA RAID/AHCI: "Intel SATA Preinstall driver (For AHCI / RAID Mode)"
- Intel Rapid Storage Technology
- VGA: "Intel Graphic Driver"
- BIOS: Already updated to the latest version
- GIGABYTE Control Center: Should I use this?
I’m not sure if it’s necessary, but I want to make sure everything is properly configured. The process feels repetitive—like trying to fix something that keeps coming back.
You don't require any desktop software. It's better to check the device manager for any missing devices and then search online using the hardware ID to locate the appropriate driver from the manufacturer.
Audio, chipset, LAN and SATA drivers are required. The iGPU will remain inactive without a separate dedicated card installed.
