Hey there, I see you're dealing with some tricky issues with your new Z690 ARIUS Master. You've had success with the 12900K and are now upgrading to the 13900K, but you're facing boot problems with Windows. The BSOD about not being able to access the boot drive is really frustrating. You've tried reinstalling Windows and using different drivers, but nothing seems to work. Since the 12900K ran well with RAID setups, it's possible the new hardware or settings are causing compatibility issues. Have you checked if your drives are properly recognized and configured in BIOS? Also, consider reaching out to Gigabyte's support for specific guidance on your model. Let me know if you want more tips!

No, I haven't updated the BIOS for the 13900K.

Without VMD I was able to install Windows, but I still require my RAID drives, so it isn’t a complete fix.

I share the same motherboard and encountered the same problem. I was running a 12900KF with VMD enabled and RAID 0, then changed the CPU to a 13900K. After booting, I saw a blue screen saying the boot device is inaccessible. I attempted to reinstall Windows, but the drives didn’t appear even after loading the VMD RST drivers. It seems Gigabyte needs to fix this issue and release a patch.

I discovered a fix, meaning you need updated VMD drivers compatible with 13th generation CPUs. You can obtain them from the AsRock Z790 motherboard support site.

The same problem occurs with the ASUS Z690 board when upgrading to the 13900K. The latest Intel RST driver might help resolve it.
