Driver completely blocks voltage control in GTX 980TI FE BIOS.
I previously managed to adjust the card's voltage using MSI Afterburner and a custom vBIOS setup. It functioned well for a while until a driver update caused the voltage slider in Afterburner to stop responding. After flashing the stock BIOS and reinstalling Windows, the issue persisted—no changes in software affect the card's behavior. I've tested other tools besides MSI Afterburner, but the problem remains unresolved. It seems the newer drivers might have restricted the vBIOS chip, preventing any voltage adjustments. I've also tried reverting to older drivers, which didn't help. The situation is confusing and unclear.
It seems you're asking about reinstalling afterburner. You mentioned trying other programs but found afterburner problematic, and you're curious if Precision X would be a better alternative if needed.
Precision X keeps doing the same thing, even after changing the BIOS with Maxwell Editor to raise the voltage table. It’s still stuck at stock levels. This is the oddest problem I’ve faced. To be honest, adding more voltage on an FE 980ti with its low-quality 6-phase VRM might not help much, and I’m aware of the dangers. I’m just doing it for fun anyway.
