Hello everyone, I shared this on the forum after spending a long time searching for a fix while setting up Windows Server 2012 r2 Essentials on my new server. I used an ASRock H97M Pro 4 board with the I218V Ethernet card. The issue was that Intel doesn’t officially support this adapter for this OS. Most fixes involve changing the driver .inf files, but I discovered a workaround online last night without needing any hacks. It seems to work across any board using the I218V adapter. I’m glad it helps someone later. Thanks for your time!

Just wanted to express my gratitude! I received a board and was swapping out an older MB in Server 2012 R2, but the drivers wouldn't load even though it said I had an Intel NIC. After searching, I found your post with the link and it worked perfectly! Really appreciated the help—it would have saved me a lot of time and frustration. Thanks again!
