DRAM Light on with Known Good RAM
DRAM Light on with Known Good RAM
Hi everyone, I recently returned almost all my components (PSU and CPU were RMA’d successfully, GPU/Motherboard showed no issues). After they arrived, everything functioned perfectly. But during a weekend trip I found my PC won’t boot and the DRAM light is blinking. I thought I’d replaced faulty RAM, but it still won’t start even with the known good sticks. I’ve tried booting one stick at a time, but nothing works. I’m getting really frustrated… what else should I try?
Have you checked if the RAM was properly seated and if your system's BIOS is up to date?
It's unlikely you're facing a faulty motherboard. Verify your current BIOS version and upgrade it if needed to avoid damaging anything. Updating the BIOS can resolve many issues, as I experienced with RAM problems on another board.
You're having trouble getting the BIOS loaded. It seems the PC isn't responding, and you're wondering if an external USB flash drive is necessary.
This might be a fresh attempt. Also verify for bent pins, even though it’s unlikely you had bent pins at the time since the problem occurred while you weren’t home.
