DRAM Light Issue
DRAM Light Issue
I'm still getting familiar with assembling PCs. My last build worked well without many problems, but now I'm struggling to reach the post screen. The main problem is that the DRAM light stays on continuously.
Specs: Processor - AMD Ryzen 7800x3D, RAM - Corsair DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) at 6000MHz, Mobo - Asus ROG Strix X670E-F Gaming, WIFI GPU, PSU - Gigabyte P1000GM, 1000W, 80Plus Gold, fully modular.
What I've tried:
- Ran the PC for 10 to 15 minutes.
- Tested each RAM slot separately with different sticks.
- Switched to another DDR5 RAM configuration.
- Used BIOS Flashback to update Moba.
- Reset CMOS.
- Removed and reinstalled everything from the PSU.
- Ran without the GPU.
Concern: On first boot, the system stayed on for about 10 minutes before shutting down. This suggests a possible internal issue. I'm not sure if this is normal or if something is fundamentally wrong with the motherboard. It might be worth checking other components or seeking professional help to avoid replacing parts unnecessarily.
Remove the motherboard from its case, place it on the anti-static bag it came with, keep the CPU in, and install one stick of RAM into slot A2. Leave the GPU and drives out. Ensure the RAM is fully seated and you hear a click. Connect power and, if needed, short the power pins using a screwdriver or jumper. If errors persist, check the CPU, motherboard, or PSU individually. For accurate diagnosis, bring the components to a local PC shop for testing.
