Recently, I sometimes power cycle my PC and then restart it. When I try to turn it back on, the DRAM light stays off even after holding the power button. There seems to be an issue, but there’s a simple solution. I removed one of the RAM sticks, restarted the computer, and accessed BIOS. It reported an error and suggested loading optimized defaults, which reset my EXPO profile and increased the speed from 6000mhz to 4800. After that, the system started working properly again. I suspect the second RAM stick might be faulty. This keeps happening, so I’m checking it carefully.
Additionally, when attempting to enable XMP, the profile remains inactive. It continues using default speeds and timing settings, which suggests the problem lies elsewhere.
My PC struggles to start when EXPO is running. Updating the BIOS might improve stability a bit. Resetting the CMOS instead of forcing RAM changes can work sometimes. In my case, pressing the reset button after a blue light appears helps occasionally. But shutting down twice always restarts it. You could turn off memory training in BIOS or disable power-down features in advanced settings to try and get more consistent performance. These steps may help but aren't a complete fix.
I was planning to reset the CMOS, but I was looking for alternatives first. I'll give it a try now and see if it helps with the instability. I'll keep you updated moving forward.
GPU functions correctly as intended and RAM appears normal now. I haven’t enabled EXPO since it doesn’t significantly affect results. Performance changes are minimal. I’ll provide an update again soon, but for now setting the CMOS seems to be the optimal choice.
