MiniITX is typically ideal for DRAM OC since it offers just two slots near the CPU socket.

mITX has the best memory topology just due to the short distances between the slot and the CPU. Also because no one expects having more than 2 sticks at a time, it doesnt have to worry about sticks on the same channel with different trace length. Ground layers that can help with interference shielding is also cheaper to add on a board that's smaller. So yeah, if there's anything memory related to receive "a penalty", it's the bigger boards. mITX boards can suffer when it comes to power delivery to the CPU, but this doesnt seem to be what you're asking about.

The platform has no channel restrictions and remains dual-channel. Bandwidth limits only appear when using systems like Threadripper or other high-end setups with four channels or dedicated servers.
