Hello. I'm in the middle of my run through Dragon Age: Origins, and it's now one of my top picks. To make it feel more like a classic, I've put in a lot of mods, but the result is still missing what I want—continuity and smooth gameplay. I really hope to jump into Dragon Age: Inquisition soon, but I'm not sure how to get the game without buying it through Origin, which I prefer to avoid. With their subscription model at $5 a month, plus those annoying DRM rules, I'd rather steer clear. Still, I haven't decided to stop EA entirely, and I'd love to play the game. Do you know of any way to get the game outside of Origin? Would downloading the files from G2A.com be okay if I use a key from G2A.com? Or should I look for a physical copy (and 20GB of updates)? Thanks in advance, Aereldor.

Because of DRM, the sole authorized method is via Origin.

It’s for an extra service, not necessary for playing the game itself.

Their DRM system requires constant login, preventing gameplay during our regular summer internet disruptions. I thought the subscription was required, but it wasn’t. Much of the issue stems from my aversion to EA and the ongoing connection problems Origin seems to face, as highlighted in many troubleshooting discussions online.

No, purchasing a physical version would not need the Origin client.

This seems illogical. While I generally avoid EA, their optional subscription appears to be a solid offer. Even without it, there are alternative ways to access their titles, so why would you boycott something that’s not mandatory?

I’m paying close attention to your feedback instead of reacting to a single cue. I’m still open to EA, since their latest offerings haven’t completely changed how I enjoy the platform.

I noted the connectivity problems and the many 'Is Origin down?' questions. Even though I might have to stay logged in while playing, frequent server failures make it a really unpleasant experience.
