You're considering using some gift cards for a few games this year. DA:I seems like a good pick because you haven't played an RPG in a while and you're feeling a bit nostalgic. People have mixed opinions about it—some praise it, others criticize it. It's a bit uncertain, but it could be fun if you enjoy the game. Let me know your thoughts!

This series is likely among the finest ever made. I suggest beginning with Dragon Age Origins, then progressing to DA2, and finally enjoying Inquisition. You can often find DAO and DA2 for less than five dollars. I’ve only played a few hours of Inquisition yet, but it hasn’t let me down. A lot has changed since the last two titles, so getting accustomed takes some time.

They seem closely linked. I’m not sure if I have the time for three long sessions in a row, but if I can jump straight into Inquisition, that would be great. I understand the value of beginning fresh, though I’ll give it a try if necessary. What do you dislike? Would you like an alternative suggestion?

I dislike the movement. I prefer it to be similar to other FPS titles. I don’t want to rely on a single click just to view up and down, and I’d rather have smoother, more natural motion instead of a rigid one.

I've never played any RPG before—even the first two Dragon Age titles—and I really enjoy Inquisition. Without any prior experience, this game sets a solid starting point for what's ahead. But since I'm completely new to RPGs, it's taking me some time to grasp everything. There are countless factors to think about: weapons, armor, upgrades, potions, crafting, looting... it feels endless. Still, I don’t blame the challenge; it’s just very different from what I’m used to. The site www.dragonagekeep.com tracks your progress in previous playthroughs of Dragon Age 1 and 2. Once you log in with your account, the game remembers your choices and shapes the story accordingly. This adaptive approach is impressive and likely why some developers suggested starting with the earlier games. I appreciate it, and I’m determined to invest a lot of time exploring it.

If you have time, try Origins, then 2, and finally the Inquisition. Origins is one of the most enjoyable games I've ever played, though it can be a bit confusing and challenging to master. DA 2 has repetitive elements (around three maps), but Hawke is my top character from BioWare (though Femshep might edge out slightly). Varric stands out as the best NPC in any game I've experienced. In terms of duration, Origins takes about 40 hours, 2 takes 15-20 hours, and I'm uncertain about the Inquisition's time commitment. Dragon Age is likely the strongest RPG series I've played. Hate is a harsh term—it's not an FPS. It's a narrative-driven RPG. Then avoid playing it entirely. The story is superbly crafted, and if controls aren't to your liking, that's fine. I wasn't particularly fond of the controls at first, but after about half an hour they became enjoyable. Don't criticize the game because of its control design; it can make you feel like a 10-year-old COD player.
