DPC delays with NVLDDMKM and DXGKRNL.SYS
DPC delays with NVLDDMKM and DXGKRNL.SYS
I faced the same issue on a prior setup. The cause was my graphics card sharing an IRQ with a USB controller, generating interrupts. Newer motherboards restrict manual IRQ adjustments since they manage this through the operating system. While possible in Windows, it requires more work than it justifies. Open "msinfo32.exe", navigate to "Conflicts/Sharing", and check what your graphics card is using. It’s likely USB. To fix, don’t need a full reinstall—here’s what I did: 1) Remove all PCI/PCIe cards via Device Manager, choosing to delete drivers if prompted. Check hidden devices and clear them with DDU. 2) Uninstall any device that shares an IRQ with the graphics card (unless essential). 3) Power down completely, discharge the battery, and take out the graphics card plus other PCI/PCIe components. 4) Restart in BIOS, restore default settings. 5) Boot into Windows 8, restart normally to reinstall the graphics card. 6) Once confirmed working, reinstall basic drivers—avoid GFExperience. Just GFX, PhysX, and HDAudio. Test functionality. 7) If everything functions, reinsert remaining devices one by one. The only frustration is lacking onboard graphics; if that’s the case, you must install it from now on. Remember to note the key sequences for BIOS defaults, doing so without seeing the process will be tricky. Please proceed carefully.
I'll attempt this immediately. On my system with an Intel 630 running on a 7600K, I'm seeing sharing conflicts—there are LOTS of them! I'll record these here, but it could be massive. If you can highlight what seems to be the real problem, that would be great, since I also need the Realtek and 980 Ti. The Realtek is connected on my PC's I/O port 0x000003C0-0x000003DF, while the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti is at I/O port 0x000003C0-0x000003DF. The PCI-to-PCI bridge sits at 0x00000070-0x00000070, and there are multiple memory addresses listed across various ports. It would be helpful to know what you think is the main issue, as it also affects the SMBUS chipset, thermal subsystem, and PCI Express connections.
Your IRQs are linked with your soundcard, though the drivers perform well. How about yours?
They're probably not pointing to the on-board HDAudio as the issue. Check if your chipset drivers are current—Snappy Driver Installer's lightweight version might offer improvements.
Right now everything seems fine, actually. All my drivers were current, I cleared Windows completely today, and the only updates installed so far are the NVIDIA and audio drivers. I removed the Intel HD 630 right away—it was just for a quick stats screen—and my latency looks normal at the moment. If it turns out to be the Intel HD, it should be fixable, but I’ll keep an eye on it. I plan to reinstall everything and see how it performs, and I’ll try reinstalling the Intel HD again to check if that causes issues. Thanks for your help!
actually not managing to re-install the intel hd, but i still SOMETIMES get a short high interrupt messaage but no high isr or dpc routine at this moment, reinstall all now, but the intel hd does not show up at all anymore + the drivers give me a "not supported" issue so lol, i'll report back when i know more, it's really weird
It reappeared quickly, as it often does before; now it consistently returns. I removed my sound drivers to check, but the issue persists—removing the 980 Ti didn’t fix it, and turning it back on instantly resolved everything. Disabling other items in Device Manager didn’t help either, so the problem seems tied specifically to the GPU.
Consider switching to an ASMedia USB 3.1 driver instead of the Microsoft one. You can find the device ID through Device Manager and check the chip details at the provided link. Download the appropriate drivers from the ASMedia website if needed. If this doesn't resolve it, the issue might be with another driver or hardware problem.
