Hi all I applied to recieve my free copy of windows 10 ages ago to find out that I was only getting it too my Surface pro 3 this morning. so now thats all done but my Windows 7 gaming rig is still awaiting the confirmation on the installation of the free upgrade I was wondering if it will still update me for my free upgrade if I use the media creation tool to perform the upgrade then burn an iso for the clean installation i wish to use anyone else done this an can comfirm windows still activates for free after there upgrade reservation ?

It's cool you're asking about the upgrade process. Do you need to complete the upgrade before a clean install, or can you jump straight to it from your USB drive?
When installing Windows 10 forcefully, expect driver problems. Microsoft is preventing updates for devices with faulty drivers under that version. The "Get Windows 10" tool will inform you about this situation; if not, it may indicate updates are coming in phases—wait or proceed with the install.
I'm more than prepaired for that as an IT techy so far tho i've had no problems since upgrading the only issue I am experincing is with windows activation currently so I can't perform a clean install so waiting on a responce from microsoft
I'm really puzzled by this. My activation is working now, but I was told I need to install Windows 7 first before upgrading to Windows 10 for a clean install.
