After some time, I’m considering a new OS installation. I don’t have the original CD, just another copy of "Windows 7 Home 32bit," but I do have "Windows 7 Pro 64bit." I’m guessing this won’t work. However, I have the activation key (http://www.youscreen.de/oaqfjscp51.jpg). How would I proceed?
I wouldn't use the 32 bit CD, it probably won't work with your key and no reason to downgrade to 32 bit when you have a key for 64 bit. Also, that is not the correct key to put in when installing Windows, you will have to extract it with a program like Keyfinder ( https://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder/ ). Since it is an OEM computer, they often have recovery partitions, which would automatically pull in the product key. It would still have all the original bloatware the computer came with though.
I only have two USB drives, one of which is 16GB, but I’m having trouble figuring out the size of the file.
lol, i used to have a version where blood cried tears for about 20 minutes before, but it felt too intense
You're right, the more I examine that item, the more unsettling it becomes.
Ensure you have a USB drive with at least 4GB capacity for the installer USB. Obtain Windows 7 ISOs from Microsoft's DigitalRiver at the provided link. Use the suggested tool or Rufus to format it onto a USB drive. You can also extract the OEM key using Keyfinder or Licence Crawler. Make sure you use the 64-bit version of the ISO. If you have a DVD drive, you can burn the ISO to a DVD for installation instead of relying on the USB.
